Reader Communication Protocol Developer's Guide
Set Antenna Ports

This command uses the concept of a logical antenna number. The logical antenna number of a reader is different from the physical antenna port number of a reader which is marked with number on the reader. The antenna is classified into antennas used for reception and antennas used for transmission. The logical antenna number of antennas used for reception is called RX Logical Antenna Number. The logical antenna number of antennas used for transmission is called TX Logical Antenna Number.

At present, all the reader products of our company use transceiver integrated antenna mode, that is, when a physical antenna port of the reader works, it uses both this port to send and receive signals.

There are multiple formats for Set Antenna Ports command. We will introduce the command format for each case separately.

Physical/logical Antenna Number Mapping Relationship

Now The TX Logical Antenna Number and RX Logical Antenna Number of all the reader products except for SLR11xx serial of readers equal the physical antenna port number. The relationship of physical/logical antenna port number of SLR11xx serial of readers is as follows.

Physical Antenna Port Number TX Logical Antenna Number RX Logical Antenna Number
1 1 1
2 3 3
3 2 2
4 4 4

Remark

At present, the physical antenna port 1 is enabled by default when the reader is powered on. The default initial transmission power(read/write) of all antennas may not be the maximum power output value.

The values of Read Power and Write Power can be set differently. Each antenna can also have different read/ write power values. The location of the parameter groups of each logical antenna in the command does not need to be in a specific order.
